Enjoy Life: Pure Joy

Pure is used to describe a person, place, or thing that is not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material. Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.

There are a number of things that I really enjoy, like Georgia Football and Cookies & Cream Ice Cream. However, music…good R&B music…bring me pure joy in life. It makes my heart feel like freedom.

Enjoy Life by scheduling time for the things that give you Pure Joy .

CEO Motivation: Multiply Yourself

“Success without duplication is merely future failure in disguise.”
– Randy Gage

You may be able to sale $10,000 worth of goods and services in a week, but how productive is your team? Do you have a team? As a leader, it is important to DO. You must lead by example and produce. However, it is just as important to share what you KNOW. Sharing what you know with just one team member could equate to doubling production. Sharing your knowledge with 10 team members could equate a hundredfold increase in production.

Developing talent can increase sales, but it will do more. It also increases the competency and confidence of the staff. Confident team members typically share their knowledge more, in essence acting as informal leaders that share what they have been taught…by you. That is the art of duplication. That is the importance of multiplying yourself.

Active: 1992 to Present
Hometown: Bronx, New York
Genre: R&B/Soul

Bio: Mary J. Blige hit the ground running with a first album that was filled with track after track of amazing music. What’s the 411? had two bonafide number 1 hits, Real Love and You Remind Me. However, at least 8 of the 12 tracks on that album could be hits on any R&B album, and 2 of the 12 track are intro tracks. You can forget about the skip button! Repeat would be more appropriate. Mary has 14 full length albums and countless singles and EPs that display a voice full of range and raw emotion. That same raw emotion has also made her a star in Hollywood. I am in love with her role in Power Book II: Ghost. Also, check out her starring role in Betty & Coretta along side Angela Bassett.

CEO Motivation: That’s Mine

Do you know anyone with toddlers? If so, you have probably heard that toddler say…THAT’S MINE OR MINE, MINE, MINE.

I’m not comparing you to a toddler, but I am pointing out the fact that you built a business and you own it. You can honestly say, That’s Mine! I believe you should be proud, and you should celebrate yourself.

Today, I heard a friend playing a song that I created. When the melody first started, I thought to myself that sounds familiar. The song continued. And I thought, that’s mine. I was shocked, but also extremely proud that my creation was being enjoyed by someone else. As a business owner/entrepreneur, you should be proud of your creation. I recommend putting it on a t-shirt for the whole world to see.

If you’re not proud of what you created, no one else will be. And sometimes you have to pat yourself on the back.
