Enjoy Life: R&B Music is My Happy Place

All R&B is moving to rnbarchives.com. Please Follow & Share.

R&B Music became popular in the African-American community during the 1940s and arose from the blues. Its rhythms are taken from jazz music and is an immediate precursor of rock and roll.

Growing up, gospel music was the staple in my household, but my father also exposed us to funk and jazz. I gravitated toward R&B, probably because of the heavy gospel influenced that entered the genre. The Temptations, Anita Baker, Peabo Bryson, Freddie Jackson, and, of course, Luther Vandross are a few of the early R&B voices that I feel in love with. Gerald Levert was my favorite artist during my teens. Collecting all of his albums and memorizing every one of his songs was my musical goal. In my early adult years, Dave Hollister was my go to artist.

There are so many amazing and talented R&B artists in this world. The invention of Apple Music gives us the ability to enjoy R&B from every country. I feel privileged to be able to show my respect to them all here. As I stated in a previous post, good R&B music makes my heart feel like freedom. It definitely takes me to my happy place. And my primary goal, with Doc Desmond Radio, is to connect with people all over the world that love R&B as much as I do.

Let our love for R&B music connect us.

Improve Breathing Before & During Training

A good way to clear your breathing before training…Peppermint Essential Oil

Menthol, which is a monoterpene alcohol, is one of the main constituents in Peppermint Essential Oil. It is primarily known for its skin-cooling and respiratory-supporting benefits. Clinical and experimental research suggests that aromatic use of menthol may yield a sensation of soothing and cooling to the respiratory tract, which promotes feelings of clear breathing.

Clearer breathing equates to the ability to consume more oxygen during training. More oxygen consumption equates to improved training efficiency, especially during cardiovascular training. The ability to train harder and longer equals faster results toward your fitness goals. That makes it a perfect addition to your pre-workout routine.

Putting a few drops in your palms, rubbing them together, and directly inhaling is one of the most popular ways to use Peppermint EO to support feelings of clear breathing.

DESCRIPTION

Lemon essential oil is cold pressed from the lemon rinds, or peel of the lemon. Cold pressing is an expression distillation process, typically used for citrus oils when producing essential oils, and uses high mechanical pressure to produce oil from the lemon rind. While other distillation processes use heat, the process of cold pressing merely squeezes the oil from the rind, with the help of mechanical pressure.

Lemon oil is comprised of chemicals called monoterpenes, which are generally known to have uplifting characteristics. Limonene and beta-Pinene are two monoterpenes that Lemon Oil has in common with other essential oils, like Bergamot, Wild Orange, Grapefruit, Lime, and Douglas Fir.
